Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2025

Short version: All calculator inputs (weight, blood glucose, insulin doses) are processed entirely in your browser. We never collect, transmit, or store your health data.

Overview

insulin-calculator.org ("the Site," "we," "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Because this is a static website with client-side-only calculators, the data we collect is minimal.

Health Data โ€” We Collect None

All insulin calculations (weight, blood glucose values, insulin doses, carbohydrate amounts) are computed entirely within your browser using JavaScript. This data is never sent to any server. We have no access to it and do not store it anywhere.

The optional theme preference (dark/light mode) is stored in your browser's localStorage, on your device only, and contains no health information.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate site usage โ€” which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and what devices are used. GA4 collects anonymized session data via cookies. It does not receive any calculator inputs.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cookies

We use the following cookies:

CookiePurposeDuration
_ga, _ga_*Google Analytics โ€” anonymous traffic measurement2 years
localStorage: themeStores dark/light mode preferenceUntil cleared

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies on calculator or content pages.

Third-Party Services

  • Google Fonts โ€” Fonts are loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log the request IP. To avoid this, fonts can be self-hosted (no functional difference).
  • Google Analytics โ€” As described above. Governed by Google's privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through a contact form, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Contact Form Data

If you submit our contact form, we collect your name and email address solely to respond to your message. We do not add you to any mailing list, share your contact details with third parties, or use them for any purpose beyond replying to your inquiry.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy laws to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. Since we collect essentially no personal data beyond anonymous analytics, most requests can be addressed by clearing your browser cookies and localStorage. For contact form data, email us at the address on our Contact page.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.
